Our Trips

I hail from a small hill town called Kodagu (Coorg). Nature has always been a part of me growing up but I never got a chance to experience the pristine Himalayan mountains nor was I aware of the concept of trekking until my first visit to Har-ki-dhun in 2012, I was about 25 years old then. After my first trek there was no looking back. I have always been an Intrepid person, exploring, choosing to be out of my comfort zone, connecting with the local community, I opened myself up to local people experiencing their way of live. What I learnt through my journey especially around the remote hill region was the indomitable spirit of the local community against the daunting odds. Although they struggled to make the ends meet regardless of the biting cold temperature, with limited access to the basic necessities of life whether it is medical care or education, yet they are truly content with life.

Our Trips

I struggled to find a trek planner who I could trust to do the right thing given the unpredictable conditions especially in the higher altitude. On my initial trips to the Himalayas I was forced to be part of a large group who were mostly there to take pictures to show off to their friends on social media. This pushed me to start planning my trips on my own which involved extensive research, networking, finalising the logistics and stay and route map. I did all the planning with the help of my network and knowledge of the local guide. Today, I have a trusted network of local people who I rely on for example to arrange my stay in the remote Aru valley of Kashmir or explore a hidden trail in Sikkim.
